Switzer
Switzer is the first Bulldog we got as a family. She is our baby and is not being used for breeding.
When Switzer was about 4 months old we noticed a place on her neck that was losing fur. After taking her to the vet we discovered that she had Demodectic mange. (A controversially form of mange that is not contagious just hereditary) It was easily cured with a series of dips. However we where still left broken hearted because we will not be able to breed her for fear of passing the mange on to her puppies. Switzer being our first bulldog I had dreamed of always having her bloodline with me after she was gone. Now when she passes we will be left not with her puppies but with her memories and the thought that we did what was right.
Demodectic mange we have found is very controversial. Our vet has said it to be hereditary most breeders will say its environmental. Here is a link to a website we found useful when researching mange http://www.marvistavet.com/html/demodectic_mange.html.
